CHIEFS CONTINUE ROAD TRIP

SPOKANE WITH A PAIR OF U.S. DIVISION GAMES ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

Spokane's season long four game road trip will continue over the weekend with a pair of games versus U.S. Division opponents.  To this point of their 13 game season the Chiefs have played just four times against the division, twice versus both Tri-City and Seattle.  On Friday night the Chiefs and Silvertips will play for the first time while on Saturday Spokane will travel to Kennewick to take on the Tri-City Americans.

Friday's game can be heard on 1510 KGA beginning at 7:00 with Xfinity Hockey Tonight.  The puck will drop at 7:35.  Saturday's game can be seen live on SWX in Spokane and, due to scheduling conflicts, heard on 790 KJRB.  Gametime on Saturday is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Spokane is 1-1 in the first two games of the four game swing as they split a pair in Prince George on Tuesday and Wednesday.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26TH - at EVERETT SILVERTIPS  - GAME-7:35 - RADIO-1510 KGA - TV-NONE
In their first of eight meetings this season the Chiefs will travel to Everett to take on their U.S. Division rival Silvertips.  Spokane will play four times in Everett and four in the Spokane Arena.  The Chiefs will host Everett on Tuesday, November 6th.  Spokane finished with an 8-1-1-0 record with one win in overtime last season against the Silvertips.  Brenden Kichton finished the series with one goal and 14 assists and was a +15.  Mike Aviani and Mitch Holmberg each had four goals and four assists.  Blake Gal had three goals and three assists and was a +8.  On average, the Chiefs outshot the Silvertips 40.4-23.2 and outscored them 4.20-2.40.  Spokane led after the second period eight times, winning seven and outshot the ‘Tips in all 10 meetings.  Everett scored the first goal of the game six times.  Spokane won five of those meetings.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27TH - at TRI-CITY AMERICANS     - GAME-7:05 - RADIO-790 KJRB - TV-SWX
For the first time since their home opener, the Chiefs will take on the Tri-City Americans.  Spokane won both halves of the season opening series with a win on 5-2 win in Kennewick on September 22nd and a 5-3 victory at home on September 29th.  In the first game Spokane got five goals from five different players including a goal and assist from Mitch Holmberg, Liam Stewart and Carter Proft, and outshot Tri-City 35-31.  The following week Holmberg had a hat-trick and Dylan Walchuk three assists in Spokane’s home opener.  Overall, the Chiefs are 2-10 on the power play and 8-8 on the penalty kill.  Spokane and Tri-City are coming off their second straight season of facing each other in the playoffs and their sixth ever meeting in the post-season.  In 2011, the Chiefs earned a six game series win while the Americans won last year’s series in seven games.  In its 25th year of existence the Chiefs lead the regular season series 145-126-1-5 with 13 ties.
