CHIEFS KNOCKED OFF 4-2 IN PRINCE GEORGE

ERIC WILLIAMS HAD 31 SAVES IN THE LOSS

Wednesday, Oct 24, 2012

The Spokane Chiefs saw their 3 game winning streak snapped Wednesday night as the Prince George Cougars scored 4 unanswered goals on their way to a 4-2 win in Prince George, B.C. The loss kept the Chiefs in second place in the U.S. Division, 2 points behind Tri Cities.

Mike Aviani staked Spokane to a 1-0 lead at 8:27 of the first period with his 7th goal of the year from Mitch Holmberg and Adam Helewka. A Brett Roulston breakaway late in the first would tie the game for the Cougars at one after the first period. Prince George would score two goals in the second to take a 3-1 lead after two. An empty net goal at 17:15 of the third would put PG up 4-1, before the Chiefs Brenden Kichton scored his 4th goal of the season, on the power play from Dylan Walchuk and Reid Gow at 19:36 to cap the scoring.

Eric Williams made 31 saves in the loss, as the Chiefs went 1-2 on the power play and 4-4 on the penalty kill. Spokane will travel to Everett Friday night at 7:35pm. Mike Boyle will have the call on 1510 KGA beginning with the pre-game show at 7pm.
