Elynuik Signs AHL Deal with Toronto Marlies

Former Spokane Chiefs forward Hudson Elynuik has signed an AHL pact with the Toronto Marlies, the AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, as announced by the Marlies on Tuesday, July 3.

Elynuik set career highs across the board during the 2017-18 season, including games player (71), goals (31), assists (55), points (86), +/- (24), PIM (78), and PTS/G (1.21). Since being acquired in December of 2013, the Calgary, Alberta native left his mark in the Chiefs’ record book, finishing 22nd in games played (245), 18th in assists (137), and 22nd in points (220).

Elynuik was selected in the third round (74th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes but did not sign and became a free agent following this June’s draft.  He was invited to the Los Angeles Kings’ development camp last week. The 20-year-old’s signing followed 2017-18 Chiefs teammate Zach Fischer’s with the Stockton Heat of the AHL on Monday.
