RECYCLE MAN IS PRESENTED BY PACIFIC STEEL AND RECYCLING
Thursday, Oct 11, 2012The Spokane Chiefs have announced the addition of a new mascot to it's promotional family as Recycle Man presented by Pacific Steel and Recycling will join the organization this season. Recycle Man will make his debut at this Saturday's home game when the Chiefs host the Vancouver Giants at 7:05 p.m.
Recycle Man, who weighs in at 190 hockey pucks and is as tall as a Jared Cowen stick, has been a summertime staple in Spokane at Spokane Indians Baseball games at Avista Stadium since 2009. After being selected in the first round of the 2009 Superhero draft, Recycle Man has soared to stardom by preaching his love for recycling and keeping Avista Stadium clean. With Recycle Man's assistance, the Spokane Indians recycled over 17,000 pounds of paper, plastic and aluminum materials last year.
"To be able to cheer on the Chiefs and continue my work on a year round basis has been a dream of mine," Recycle Man said.
"I look forward to working with Boomer, meeting the unbelievable Chiefs' fans and being a part of the family at the Spokane Arena."
Recycle Man's goals this season will be to educate Chiefs' fans on the impact that recycling can make on the environment, helping to save energy, and to keep the community looking clean.
Recycle Man will also work in conjunction with the Chiefs' official mascot, Boomer the Bear presented by Subway, in the community and cheering on the Chiefs at all home games.
Recycle Man and Boomer will meet with fans on a nightly basis and sign autographs in the first 10-minutes of the third period.
Tickets for all home games are available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK or TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.
