Spokane Acquires Pair Of Forwards From Regina

Regina Pats

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Chiefs announced today that they have acquired forwards Riley Woods (pictured above) and Rykr Cole in exchange for Wyatt Sloboshan and a third round pick in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.

“Riley is a skilled left wing with good offensive ability who will fit on our top two lines,” said Chiefs’ General Manager Scott Carter. “Rykr is a solid two-way player who can play on both wings and brings an edge to his game.”

Woods, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound 18-year-old from Regina, had six goals and seven assists in 28 games with the Pats this season. Last year, as a 17-year-old rookie, he picked up nine goals and five assists in 31 games before recording two assists in nine playoff games. In the 2014-15 season, he piled up 59 points including 22 goals in 42 games with the eventual league champion Regina Pat Canadians of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. He was listed by Regina in 2015.
