2019 IIHF World Junior Championship continued Thursday with the Chiefs represented by three players; Jaret Anderson-Dolan and Ty Smith of Team Canada, and Filip Kral who is playing for Team Czech Republic. The Czechs had the day off and return to action Friday, while Canada played Thursday and has Friday off.

Canada 3, Switzerland 2 

The Canadians collected their second win in as many days on Thursday, coming out victorious in a close match-up with Switzerland. Both Ty Smith and Jaret Anderson-Dolan,who saw a 51 shifts between the two of them, were held off the scoresheet and posted 2 PIM. Following the off day Friday, Canada will face Chiefs teammate Filip Kral and Team Czech Republic on Saturday at 5 p.m. (NHL Network).

Czech Republic vs. Russia – Friday, Dec. 28 at 5 p.m. (NHL Network)

After having the day off on Thursday, Kral and the Czechs will face a Russia team that beat Denmark 4-0 on Thursday in a match-up of WJC unbeatens.

The Chiefs return to Spokane Arena on Friday, December 28 as they’ll host the Everett Silvertips on Fred Meyer Calendar Giveaway Night. The first 3,000 fans through the doors will receive a 2019 calendar courtesy of Fred Meyer.
