The Spokane Chiefs and Spokane American Youth Hockey Association (SAYHA) have announced they will be holding a 50/50 raffle drawing at the Rockstar Outdoor Hockey Classic on January 15th, 2011 at Avista Stadium. The Chiefs are hosting the Kootenay Ice in the WHL’s first ever outdoor hockey game.
“We’re excited to have the opportunity to partner up with the Chiefs in this unique event and raise money and awareness for SAYHA and the Chiefs Education Fund,” John Grasso, President of the Spokane American Youth Hockey Association, said.
One grand prize winner will receive 50-percent of the pot. A second ticket will be drawn to win two full season tickets, including playoffs, to the 2011-12 Spokane Chiefs season.
50/50 tickets will cost $5.00 for one or three for $10.00. Tickets can be purchased in advance of the game at the Spokane Chiefs office on the southeast corner of the Spokane Arena, the SAYHA office located in Eagles Ice-A-Rena at 6321 north Addison in Spokane and at Avista Stadium during all events leading up to and on the day of the game. The winner does not need to be present to collect the prize.
Proceeds will be split between the Spokane Chiefs Continuing Education Scholarship Fund and the Spokane American Youth Hockey Association.
For every season a player plays in the WHL, they receive a full year guaranteed Scholarship, including tuition, textbooks and compulsory fees, to a post-secondary institution of their choice. For example, players graduating from a four-year WHL career are eligible to receive four years of scholarship funding. The WHL Scholarship, combined with additional financial assistance from Universities in Western Canada, makes the WHL - Canada West Universities joint scholarship equivalent to any other offer available in North America today.
Tickets to the Rockstar Outdoor Hockey Classic are still available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK or TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.
