Chiefs Sign Defenseman Mike Ladyman to WHL Agreement

The Spokane Chiefs announced on October 15 that they have signed defenseman Mike Ladyman to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.

“Mike impressed us at training camp in August and has continued to play well early into this season,” said Chiefs general manager Scott Carter. “We’re very happy to welcome him to the team and are excited to see him on the ice in a Chiefs sweater.”

Ladyman, a 2001-born rearguard from Winnipeg, was listed by the Chiefs in November 2017. He played 60 games with the Winnipeg Blues of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League last season, scoring 23 points (2G-21A) before adding two assists in 12 playoff contests. In eight games with the Blues so far during the 2018-19 campaign, he has posted one goal and eight assists.

Mike LadymanA left-hand shot who stands 5-foot-11 and 174 pounds, he was originally a fifth-round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft by the Regina Pats.

He is expected to join the Chiefs in time for their road game at Brandon on October 16 and will wear jersey number 25.

The Chiefs continue their six-game road trip on Tuesday at Brandon but return to Spokane Arena on Friday, October 26 when they take on the Portland Winterhawks for Avista “Way to Save” Night & Glow Bracelet Giveaway.
