The first round of the Spokane Chiefs 2018-19 Play of the Year contest has concluded with the field narrowing to eight plays!
Matt Leduc’s “The Hit” was the top vote-getter with 78.3% in its head-to-head match-up with Adam Beckman’s “St. Patty Hatty”. The narrowest contest was between Eli Zummack’s “All Alone” and Jake McGrew’s “He Did What?”, where McGrew’s between-the-legs score snuck by with 51.8%.
McGrew is the only player to advance with two plays still alive, as he also made it through with his “Road Warrior” goal at Everett during the 2019 WHL Playoffs. Riley Woods and Eli Zummack each had two goals to start the bracket but only one advanced through from the opening round.
