PREVIEW: Chiefs play rare day game on the road against Winterhawks

Portland, Ore. — The Spokane Chiefs look to carry their momentum from Saturday’s win to the Rose City as they take on the Portland Winterhawks at noon on Monday. It’s the third match-up of the season between the teams, with the most recent contest on November 6 when the Chiefs came back from a four-goal deficit to force overtime, but eventually lost 8-7 in the shootout. Alternate captain Ty Cheveldayoff scored his first Western Hockey League career hat trick, including the goal that sent the game to OT in the final minute of regulation.
