SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Chiefs forward Hudson Elynuik is all set to compete with the Carolina Hurricanes at this weekend’s 2016 NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan. The Hurricanes open their tournament schedule against the New York Rangers on Friday, Sept. 16 at 4 p.m.
“I’m excited to get to Michigan and get going,” Elynuik said. “I’m ready to take in the experience, work hard and see what I can do.”
The Hurricanes will play four games over the course of the tournament – three in the round robin and one by seeding – before moving on to their training camp. The tournament runs from Sept. 16-20.
Elynuik, who was selected by Carolina in the third round (74th overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, is one of 24 players on the Traverse City tournament roster and one of 14 forwards, as announced by the Hurricanes on August 24.
The Spokane Chiefs open the 2016-17 regular season on the road on September 24 before kicking off the home schedule with Bud Light Opening Night & Pre-Game Party on Saturday, October 1 versus the Tri-City Americans at Spokane Arena.
